Why do some colleges require that you complete an admissions essay? It's a common question. What do you think an admissions representative is able to determine about you from your admissions essay or personal statement? Please share your thoughts?
i think some college require an admission essay to see what kind of a person you are. you can have the best grades and highest GPA but can just not be made for college life. from your essay, admissions people can see where you come from, if you're ready for college, and if that college is right for you.
i try to understand what kind of person you before getting in see you for the very first time. they dont always know who you are or what your background is like. so they ask for a essay to bfreily discrib who you are.
I think some colleges reqire you to complete a admission essay to get to know you a little better and to see if you are really into that college. I think they can determine weather you really are intrested in their school and what you hope to accomplish and also just to see if you are well rounded person.

Another reason why is because they may want to see your reaction to their general question and how it may or may affect your life. The admission representative should be able to determine what type of person you are or have a general idea of the the upcoming student who's coming to their school.

Also, i think that they might want to know about your views on the issues that are going on in the world. Lastly, I think that they would also like to know about other things that you didn't put on the application.
